A short one. In March 2021 NOVA3D made it possible to slice for their resin printers in ChiTuBox (and ChiTuBox Pro). I couldn't find anything about it online, so I asked the company and made this quick guide.
Setting up ChiTuBox for NOVA3D
First, download the files from the link in the video description: a PDF guide plus the plugin and printer profiles. The procedure works on both PC and Mac.
- Open ChiTuBox and go to Help → Plugins.
- Click Import plugins, locate the downloaded NOVA3D plugin (version 1.0.4 in my case) and import it. It should appear in the list. Close the window.
- Set up the printer: choose the default printer and click OK.
- Import the NOVA3D printer profiles: select all of them and click Open. All the NOVA3D printers now appear in the list.
- Select your printer and, if you like, rename it.
- Slice your model, then choose the output extension. There are three NOVA3D options. For my Elfin2 Mono SE I use the Mono one, even if it says "not approved". Don't worry about that.
- Save the file. ChiTuBox writes it and converts it, and it's ready to print.
That's it. Easy. I know how much I appreciate it when someone shows me something I couldn't find, so I hope this saves you some time.
