My very first Christmas vlog, filmed back in December 2017 and narrated in Italian. For years I didn't really like Christmas. This was the year I decided to give it another chance, mostly thanks to two little troublemakers.
Why I used to hate Christmas
I'll be honest: until a few years ago Christmas wasn't my favourite time of the year. I live in a small city in the south of Italy, and during the holidays not much happens. That's exactly why I've always loved escaping somewhere else. In the video we walk around on a cold but sunny day, the kind of beautiful day when the streets should be full of people, and yet they're almost empty. It's one of the many contradictions of my city.
What changed: the twins
This year something was different. As you know, I have a pair of twins who now walk around the house, explore everything, climb on the TV and do their best to destroy it. Maybe it's thanks to them that I started enjoying Christmas again. Next year they'll probably be old enough to really appreciate their presents, and I can't wait.
Family and food
Christmas here is all about family: spending time together, playing with the kids and unwrapping presents. But food is a huge part of it. If you ever come to the south of Italy at this time of year, you'll understand what I mean. In the video I just call it "madness". I gave Christmas another chance and, in the end, things went pretty well.
