After more than a month away from the channel, I took a day off and drove south with the kids to Roca, in Salento. It's home to the Grotta della Poesia, one of the most spectacular spots in Apulia, and a place that needs to be seen.
A day off, finally
In spring 2019, I had been so busy that I'd been away from YouTube for over a month. So I decided to take a day for myself and the kids and head to the south of Apulia, to Roca to be precise. This video is mainly a way of telling you all that I'm still here and planning to stay for a long time.
Roca and the Poetry Cave
Roca Vecchia is on the Adriatic coast near Melendugno, and it's famous for the Grotta della Poesia, the "Poetry Cave": a natural sinkhole in the limestone, open to the sky and connected to the sea, with crystal-clear water. All around it are the remains of an ancient settlement that has been studied by archaeologists. It really is an awesome place, and somewhere I think everyone visiting Apulia should see.
About that 10K goal
At the time I was still sticking to my goal of 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year. I was honest about it in the description: I doubted I would get past 4,000. But the point was never the number. It was about continuing to create.
