70mai sold it as entry-level, but after more than a week of testing in May 2026 I can't call the A810 Lite that. I hardwired it, with the UP04 4G kit, into my wife's Dacia Spring, and its 4K footage is good enough to use in my travel videos.
Why the Dacia Spring
My Jeep Compass already has another 70mai camera, a 360° model I bought myself and loved. So when 70mai contacted me, I installed the A810 Lite on my wife's electric Dacia Spring. I was selling the Jeep at the end of July, and the Spring would be our main car for a while, so I wanted it wired with the best solution I had.
Hardwiring it myself
I found the fuse box and identified the two fuses to use: the red wire went on the horn fuse and the yellow on the instrument lights, with the ground on a bolt. Before closing everything up, I turned the key and the camera came on. Then I ran the cables behind the trim to the main block, around to the front camera and all the way back to the rear camera. A nice, clean job, all inside. 70mai even includes adhesive cable clips, so nothing hangs.
Image quality and the details
The front camera records in 4K and the rear in 1080p. As a video maker, I was really impressed. Crop out the overlays and it's footage you could use in a proper video. And quality matters on a dashcam, because you need to read number plates in front and behind. Night vision, which 70mai calls Super Night View, uses an f/1.55 aperture to let in a lot of light. There are some reflections from the windscreen in the sun, of course.
Two accessories surprised me in the box: a branded 128 GB SD card (a 3-minute clip is about 660 MB, so you need it) and a UV filter for bright light. That attention to detail is something I usually see only from companies like DJI or Apple.
The 4G module changes everything
With the UP04 4G hardwire kit, the car is connected. You park, walk away, and if someone touches or tries to break into the car, you get a notification over 4G, on my phone and even on my watch. It records front and rear, and from the app you can see where the car is and watch live footage. You can use any data SIM (disable the PIN first or it won't connect). There's also an optional cloud subscription, so your footage is safe even if the SD card gets damaged.
In parking mode you can also shoot a time-lapse. One tip: I set surveillance sensitivity to high, and every speed bump triggered a saved "event". Turn it down one or two notches.
