My second B-roll of Brindisi, my hometown. A city full of contradictions, but also full of beauty. Because let's be honest, it really is beautiful.
A love letter in ninety seconds
I filmed this in 2017, and it's just a minute and a half of images with no narration. I wanted to show Brindisi the way I see it on a good day: the light on the water, the old stones, the everyday life of a southern Italian port city. There are things here that frustrate me, and I won't pretend otherwise. But I believe all of these contradictions and beauties could one day be reborn as a wonderful city. This video is my small way of saying so.
How I shot it
Everything was filmed on my Sony a6500, mostly with the 18–105mm zoom, plus a Meike 35mm prime. Back then this was my whole kit, and it was more than enough to tell a story about a place I love.
